Synchronous condensers
Jun 09, 2024
Decarbonization targets drive the retirement of traditional thermal power plants and the increased adoption of non-synchronous technologies such as solar, wind, and increased use of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) electric power transmission.
To support increased renewable penetration, solutions are required to replace the missing key grid-stability characteristics of inertia, short-circuit contribution, and reactive power. Based on our proven Brush Power Generation DAX generators, our synchronous condensers offer all three—and are unique in their ability to provide both short-circuit contribution and inertia.
We can also provide the following options as part of the solution:
to 210 ºC mvar
to -150 ºC mvar (independent of temperature)
